News release from Coos Co. SCINT.  "On 10/26/13 South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team along with Coquille Police, Myrtle Point Police and Bandon Police K9 executed a search warrant at, 910 Bender Street, Myrtle Point and contacted, CONNIE HANAN and JAMES EMRA.  As a result of that search warrant the following items were located, to include but not limited too:  Methamphetamine, Syringes, Bindles, Metal spoons w/ cotton wads, Digital scales, Snort Straws, Less than an ounce of Marijuana and Marijuana pipes.  Both Emra and Hanan will be referred to the District Attorney for charges.  SCINT encourages the public to report narcotics activity on the web by going to www.scint.us and “Report a Dealer”."

News release from Coos Co. SCINT.  "On 10/24/13 SCINT assisted DHS with a home visit at 93815 Green Acres Rd, Coos Bay, the home of Bruce Kinsey and Charity Kinsey and Charity’s child. The contact was generated after DHS received a report of drug activity in the home around the minor child.  As a result of a search SCINT detectives located several methamphetamine smoking devices with methamphetamine. Both Bruce and Charity will be referred to the District Attorney for charges.  SCINT encourages the public to report narcotics activity on the web by going to www.scint.us and “Report a Dealer”."

Drug Conviction

News release from SCINT.  "On 10-28-13, Crystal L. Shaffer (49 yoa) of Coos Bay was convicted for the listed crimes.  Crime(s): Six counts of Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine, seven counts of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, one count of Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, one count of Unlawful Delivery of Hydrocodone and Felon in Possession of Firearms.  The investigation began in late 2012 and extended into 2013 when a search warrant was executed at her residence, 98539 South Coos River Lane.  After a two-day jury trial, a twelve person jury unanimously found Shaffer guilty on all counts.  Shaffer was sentenced to 44 months in prison and 36 months probation.  SCINT encourages the public to report narcotics activity on the web by going to www.scint.us and “Report a Dealer”."

Libby Lane Accident

News release from the Coos Co. Sheirff's Office.  "On 11/05/13 at approximately 0550 hours the Coos County Sheriff’s Office and Charleston Fire Department responded to a single vehicle injury accident on Libby Drive near milepost three.  Neomi J. Allen, age 24, of Coos Bay, was westbound on Libby Lane, heading towards Charleston, in her 2005 Ford Taurus, when she attempted to dodge a deer in the roadway.  Ms. Allen lost control the car, swerving into the oncoming lane, hitting the bank and flipping the car up onto its side.  Ms. Allen was transported to Bay Area Hospital by Bay City's Ambulance, her six-month-old son was not injured in the accident.  The vehicle was towed by Mast Brothers Towing."

Assault Charge

A news release from the Coos Co. Sheriff's Office.  "On October 30, 2013 a Deputy from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office took a report of an assault which occurred at 63755 Center Road, Coos Bay, Oregon, 2 days earlier on October 28, 2013.  Through the investigation Deputies learned Jason Hughes, 31 YOA, of Coos Bay had struck the victim, 27 year old William Cox of Coos Bay in the head with a flashlight, causing serious physical injury and ultimately causing the victim to be emergently flown to Oregon Health Sciences University.  Jason Hughes was arrested for Assault II without incident and transported to the Coos County jail and booked.  In the investigation it was also learned that the victim, William Cox had an outstanding felony warrant from Douglas County for Failure to Appear.  Mr. Cox was also arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail without incident."

Criminal Trespass

A news release from the Coos Co. Sheriff's Office.  "On November 2, 2013, at 0003 hours a Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy and an Officer from the Myrtle Point Police Department responded to 94588 McNeely Lane, Coquille, Oregon in response to a report of a trespass occurring there.  Upon arrival officers contacted 42 year old Angela Royal.  It was learned that Ms. Royal had been previously trespassed from the premises.  Angela Royal was arrested for Criminal Trespass II and transported to the Coos County Jail without incident where she was booked.  Mr. Howell and Ms. Martindale are the residents on the property on McNeely Lane."
